MILES BACKHOUSE
A corporate lawyer with a difference, Miles Backhouse (B.Sc., LL.B) devoted 25 years to starting up, managing, owning and restructuring a successful textile business before earning a law degree from the University of Toronto and being called to the Ontario Bar in 2003.
Between 1977 and 2004, Miles was involved in the everyday financial, employment and legal issues of his business, as well as its restructuring, shareholder buyout, sale and succession planning.
Since opening his Mississauga corporate law practice in 2005, Miles has been offering guidance on a variety of legal issues to privately-owned businesses. His previous first-hand business experience ensures that he is giving the right advice to his clients. And, having been a successful entrepreneur himself, Miles doesn’t shy away from offering his business opinion – an opinion that is separate from his legal advice.
Miles lives in Mississauga with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children.
